A Moment about Color

Carol is happiest when surrounded by a vast language of color which fuels her images and reflect’s her inner buoyancy & progressive optimism.

Colors are energy…..red hot…mellow yellow…..pretty in hot pink…a blue moon….you can feel the vibrancy as each phrase comes through.

Colors are a frequency of wavelengths, too. Her images depict an array and magnitude of stunning color levitating within a symphony of squares and rectangles of various geometric dimensions. ?

I like what Joseph Albers says (1888 - 1976 a German artist & Yale professor who often painted squares) ) who celebrated the power of colors, illusion, activity and transformation, and who perfected the examples on how the same color will look different depending on what surrounds it; that different colors will appear the same depending on adjacencies; that colors can be made to advance,  recede, vibrate, pulse or metamorphose.”

And I like  The Bezold Effect: named after. Wilhelm Von Bezhold ( 1837-1907) is simply the fact that the substitution of a single color causes every other color in the design to shift in relationships. Changing just one color in a design changes the entire design in composition, personality, spatial perception and weight.
